The plants in the Bottle Jungle come from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. Here they grow low to the ground, sheltered under the tall trees. This makes them ideal for a bottle garden.
The Fittonia, also called mosaic plant, stands out because of its colorful leaves with striking veins. It was discovered in the jungles of Peru, where it grows as ground cover on the forest floor. This characteristic makes this plant perfect for terrariums, because it creates a natural look.
The other plants, such as the Calathea, are known for their beautiful leaf patterns and their nocturnal movements, with the leaves closing in the evening. The Aglaonema is not only robust, but also has air-purifying qualities, and the Chamaedorea provides an exotic look with its elegant, palm-like leaves.
