Care

The Pilea depressa requires a little more attention to moisture than other Pileas, but is otherwise an easy housemate: keep the soil slightly moist, mist it occasionally, and it will continue to grow happily.

Water

Unlike many other houseplants, Pilea depressa prefers consistently moist soil – never let the top layer dry out completely. During the growing season (spring-summer), you can add some plant food monthly for extra growth vigor.

Place and light

This Pilea likes a bright spot without strong, direct sunlight, as its delicate leaves can easily scorch. A spot near a north or east-facing window is ideal, so it receives plenty of soft, indirect light without drying out.

Temperature

The Pilea depressa feels most comfortable at room temperature, between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius, and prefers a slightly higher humidity. Avoid drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.

Additional care tips

Avoid completely drying out the soil and overly dry air: this will quickly cause the delicate leaves to wilt. A humid environment, such as a kitchen or bathroom, is good for this Pilea.
